General Discussion / Re: Cranberry 200
« on: June 05, 2020, 07:15:20 AM »
We want to thank all that came out and shot the cranberry last weekend. It was great to see normalcy again(pictures). The support everyone showed to our club is so much appreciated. I want to that Pat G Waukesha for letting us move the date back to his date, people working together in the upside down spring keeps all us going. Congrats to Pete M(picture) to taking both 200 main and FITASC, pretty good shooting for a northern redneck!!!

NSCA complimentary membership.  Print, fill out, and bring with you to the shoot.  I will send it in with the shoot report.  Unfortunately, the complimentary membership cannot be done online.

General Discussion / Re: woods and meadow events
« on: March 16, 2020, 07:35:13 AM »
Good Morning,
I have fielded 11 calls this morning about whether we are going to be having the cranberry do to the corona virus.
First, its is 4 weeks away, second it is a outdoor event and even though we have 200+ people coming to the event it is spread over 3 days large acreage. You are spread apart and shooting multiple events. The only close contact you will have is when you kiss one of your squad members after hitting a Joe target. ;)
We will have our new building open and heated so plenty of indoor room. If this is still a issue at the time of the event and you are a at risk person, call us ahead and we will get you taken care of and bring your packet outside to you when you arrive.
We dont take this lightly, but this is not a indoor event where you are in close contact with a large amount of people. And besides its the cranberry, you will have winter gloves, rain gear, and face masks anyway LOL ;)
Also no word from Lena, she is quarantined in Iceland.

See you on the 28th, Joe and the traps are getting pumped!!!

General Discussion / woods and meadow events

To all of our shooters,

Woods & Meadow will be hosting all sporting clays events as scheduled this spring and summer.  We have hundreds of acres of clean, fresh, country air and we will proceed with our normal business operations.  Our clays course will open March 28th with two 100 target events.  Cranberry 200 registration is available online for our April 17-19th shoot.  The North Zone shoot is May 9th.  As always, Amy is not a hugger, and Joe and Scott do not have feelings, so there is no spread of illness here.

It is hard to believe with the constant snow we've been getting, but the Cranberry 200 & MEC USA FITASC is less than 3 months away.  That being said, I will no longer be holding "reserved" spots as squadding is filling up.  Flight 3 for the main is almost full, and we only have 9 spots available in FITASC.

Sign up and squad reports are available on

We are currently without email, so please call the clubhouse to book hunts or if you need any other information.  You can contact Amy at her email for sporting clays information and questions about the cranberry.

General Discussion / Make a break at state shoot
« on: July 26, 2019, 03:55:04 PM »
In addition to all of the events at the state shoot (which are all up to date on and we will have Make a break.  You can shoot Make a break for practice or enter the "Make a Break" tournament sponsored by Joel Anders and Convergint Technologies.  Make a break is not a registered event.  $10 a round from the tournament goes in to the payout, and Joel has added $1000 to the payout.  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place entrants from the "M & AA" bracket win money, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners from the "A-E & Hunters" bracket win money.

In an effort to get me out of the clubhouse, Joel and I will also be shooting Make a break against each at some point during the week.  Joel has to provide me with the gun I like to shoot and he has to shoot true pairs while I shoot report pairs.  Basically I get to make my own rules!  :)

We are looking forward to a fun week of shooting!

General Discussion / Wis State Shoot just around the corner
« on: July 16, 2019, 05:34:17 PM »
We are about 2+ weeks out. Today Dan from MEC brought out 40 traps, THIS GETS THE BALL ROLLING. We have been mowing the courses the last couple of weeks getting ready.  We have the new road into the FITASC fields on our Emil Farm all done. Its our first time shooting there,  some fun terrain, even have a old barn to through targets out of!!!.

Just ordered my deer fly killing chemicals to spray with our orchard mister and tractor to nuke the bugs on the different courses. Nothing sweeter then watching a deer fly grabs its throat and die!! Going to try a calcium-chloride dust down on our gravel roads to see if that knocks down the dust, works on our town roads.

We are going to set up FITASC late next week. Joe Dobson will be setting FITASC, the sm gauge events and one leg of the Main. You know him as the jack pine norther redneck target setter, or Cranberry Joe. Nate Peterson (puddle jumper)and Bill will be doing the super sport, prelim and one leg of the Main. We are excited this year to be doing only two flights for the main 9 and 1, no morning or evening sun issues and be done by 3:30 to start shoot offs earlier. Fast Eddie is doing the 5-stands and Make-A-Break. Doing 17 stations on the main so lots of ways for our targets setters to deceive you?????

We have some great sponsors, Elite Shooting Sports giving away a Pilla shooting glasses 1000.00 value, MEC Traps  added to shoot 2000.00, White Flyer 1000.00 added, Shell r us & Clever shells, Joes Clays prizes. Added money to the Make-A-Break, WSCA and NSCA added moneys and trophy's.  We are also going to give case of Clever T1 shells to each class and concurrent winner in the Main event along with the trophy.

This isnt our first rodeo so all was planned out a long time ago and is coming together nicely. Even will have our new building will be half assed done for the event, you know was supposed to be done by state, but all good plans have to have a glitch or two LOL!!!

One thing we are asking is when you reg in for the shoot.  Amy is not a hugging feeling type of person, we all miss Nick, but she is there to run this event, so please dont go in and talked about it, she is ready to do this shoot. This shoot is a big part of helping her through this terrible experience, being around friends in our shooting world. She wants to thank of of you that reached out to her and it meant alot to see all the support!!! But as Nick would say its time to move on, dont never forget, but move on with life, he was always looking forward to the next project never behind.

General Discussion / Nick Janz Passing
« on: July 05, 2019, 11:05:58 AM »
For those of you that have not heard, Amy husband Nick died in a work accident last Monday. Amy and her three children are hanging in there with great family support and close friends. Adam and I were at the 4th of July Shoot at Waukesha yesterday, the support and condolences were very much appreciated and will be expressed to Amy and her family. Many of you asked how you could help or what she needed. Her sister and my Kris set up a go fund me account off Woods and Meadows face book page in lou of flowers, It will be used for Amy and Nick's three children put away and invested for their college education if you wanted to help.

Amy is a strong lady and with the help of her family and close friends will endure this tragedy.
Amy wont be doing wont be working on the state shoot to the week of the 15th.

From Kris and I, Nick was a close friend for 20+ years and as part of this club as any of us, he will missed so much!!!

« on: March 16, 2019, 11:41:47 AM »
Due to the slow decrease of the loads of snow we have, we will be unable to have our March 30th shoot.  Our course will not be opening until April 6th.
