General Discussion / Sad News - Pete Elsen
« on: December 31, 2019, 02:02:38 PM »
Pete Elsen passed away yesterday.  Pete was a very long time trap and skeet shooter in Wisconsin.  Pete was a machinist who made chokes, sub-gauge tubes and did other gunsmithing as well.   Services pending.

Congratulations to Wisconsin Shooters who made the 2019 NSCA Krieghoff All American Team.
Mary Krentz and Pat Wesolowski.  Well done.

General Discussion / Wisconsin State FITASC
« on: August 08, 2016, 06:50:51 PM »
For Those of you shooting FITASC at the Wisconsin State Shoot.  Don't forget that this event has a dress code.  Look it up at the NSCA web site if you need to.  No sandals or open toed shoes, shirts with a collar and Bermuda length shorts.  Numbers on your back, not a pouch.  If someone complains and you are not compliant, you could face DQ.  There is a process and a committee.  It is at a state shoot, not a club event.

The 2016 Krieghoff All American team is posted and Rich made the All American team among some pretty rarefied company.  Nice going.

Thanks to everyone who shot today.  Trophies may be picked up at the club at the next shoot or prior to the state shoot.  Ties were decided by tiebreak stations #11 & #16.  Lewis and class money to follow.

General Discussion / State Shoot Criteria
« on: October 12, 2013, 06:04:30 PM »
I see that the state shoot criteria have been updated again.  I have a simple question.  Instead of the subterfuge, why don't we just list the clubs that are supposed to be able to have the state shoot?  We have lost so many clubs throwing registered shoots that we are at half the level of just a few years ago. If a club has the ability to hold a public event with over twenty thousand participants, why does the association think it is not capable of hosting a sporting clays shoot with fewer than three hundred participants?  A lot can change in the three years between being awarded the shoot and actually hosting it.  According to the NSCA, all members of the NSCA are automatically voting members of the state association.  Why is it that the members are not allowed to vote on such issues?
In order to be truly fair, and to get new clubs to throw registered shoots, why not have the right to hold the state shoot rotate among member clubs and have it be transferable to clubs that meet a more realistic criteria regarding the ability to host a large shoot?  In this manner, larger clubs who wish to hold the shoot could buy the rights from smaller clubs who could use the money to stay in business.

Took my cart down today.  Even if you don't shoot, you may want to visit the vendors.  Connecticut shotgun and Beretta both had semi trailer displays.   Anyone need a new sidelock?  Everything looks well organized and ready.  Now if the weather cooperates.....
