Welcome to the WSCA Website

As you can see, the website has undergone some significant changes. Please take a moment to look around and see them for yourself.

Since the primary function of the website is to allow shooters and clubs to share information, I welcome feedback from all the users.

As we move forward, there are some exciting new features that we're planning on adding to the website. For instance, the forum software is being completely overhauled to provide better communication amongst the clubs and the shooters. We are also going to be using some on-line surveys periodically, to help us get get feedback and improve the shooting experience throughout Wisconsin.

I also want to try to make the website more accessible for the increasing number of people using mobile devices (iPhones, Blackberrys, etc.), while not making it difficult for those who are just getting used to using a computer.

If you have any questions or comments, positive or negative, please let me know.

Event Calendar - Updates

One of the largest changes on the website is how the Event Calendar is handled.

The events are now being handled with a Google Calendar. This allows for much greater flexibility and useful features.

For example, when you click on an individual event, you will see an option for "map". This will provide Google maps information about the location of the club and contact information.

Depending upon your software or phone, you may be able to subscribe to the calendar and have it downloaded to your computer or mobile device.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate contact me.

Forum Software

The forum software is being switched to utilize much more robust software.

This will allow for multiple discussion forums (i.e. General Discussion, Shoot Results, Classifieds, etc.). One big advantage is that the individual clubs will be able to post their results on their own as soon as they have them completed.

The discussion forum will also be moderated. This is being done in an effort to keep the discussions productive and appropriate, given the family-oriented nature of the website.

"Thank You!" to Paul Jessup

As of January 1, 2010, Paul Jessup stepped down as the webmaster for the WSCA. This is a job that he did, for free, for the past decade.

As I have stepped into his shoes, I have become aware of the large amount of work and effort that is necessary to make this site function.

As shooters and clubowners, we all owe Paul a debt of gratitude for his generous donation of time and talents!

If you see him or talk to him, please take a moment to say "Thanks!".
